HEAT: COMPETITIVE TRAVEL DIVISION
This program is designed for players who already have a solid foundation in the ‘beautiful game’ and are ready to compete at the select competition level with like-minded athletes who are dedicated to the sport of soccer.
Hillsdale Soccer Club currently has 3 teams participating in the Capital Area Soccer League (CASL). Heat teams are coached by licensed, experienced and knowledgeable volunteers. This program is designed with the family in mind. The commitment is light enough for multi-sport student athletes, yet structured to provide true player development. This hybrid-type format is very unique in the world of youth soccer today and our Heat program draws players and coaches from a wide radius of communities, not just Hillsdale!
HEAT Try Outs
All players must participate in a tryout session to be considered for a roster spot on one of our travel teams. Tryouts are held on two dates each June. Click here to get on the wait list and receive information when tryout details are announced in May.
Participation on HSC travel teams in the past does not guarantee anyone a roster spot on a HEAT team for future seasons. We adhere to a strict set of skill requirements in choosing our fall teams and Challenger’s recommendations will be strongly considered. Every player on a HEAT team must be able to contribute to the success of the team. Players who are not selected for HEAT teams will be placed in the WAVE program. There will be some additional opportunities to add players to HEAT teams for spring.
While all of our HEAT teams are currently designated as boys' teams, players of all genders are welcome to try out in accordance with Michigan State Youth Soccer Association (MSYSA) rules and regulations. There is the possibility of a girls’ team or other HEAT teams forming in the future if enough players can attain select-level readiness and certified coaches can be secured.
Player fees are $260, which includes fall and spring games and practices, plus winter and summer training opportunities. Nike uniform must be purchased separately from our Team Gazelle shop (approx. $60, may be worn multiple seasons).
Preseason practices begin in August, and will be dedicated to HEAT players only. Practices will generally be on weeknights after 5:30. Games take place on Saturdays and Sundays beginning in September.
